First Official Rant

The Eagles should be 7-0 or at least 6-1.

They are 4-3.

boooooooo

(Now, we can all expound upon that and get this thing started.)

I'd probobly say 6-1

-They ABSOLUTELY should have had the Giants; no question.

-They lost to the Saints because of Andy Reid's inability to manage a goddamn clock

-I'm 50/50 on the Bucs game. In a controlled environment: blowout. But it was 100 degrees on the field. The birds should have practiced in Tampa a little longer that week if those temperatures were forecasted. So essentially, they were beaten by the heat. Plus the Bucs pulled out some luck (the ol 62 footer). So I'm not really sure if this shouldve been a locked win.

I will go further to say that BRIAN WESTBROOK should have won the Bucs game by himself. He should have tecmoed those SOBs by standing on the goal line till somebody caught up to him. Would have spelled the difference.

Yeah, I was wondering if he would start running up and down the field whilst Buc defenders dived too early and Tim Deery launched his controller across the room.

But seriosuly, if you can score with less than 40 seconds left, and you can't handle that lead, that's awful. Even a prevent defense should only allow a few completions. Throw in the fact that Tampa scored ZERO offensive TDs, and I think I have to say that the Eagles handed them the game. And the Giants. Which is awful.

I'll say this, though. The Birds could easily be undefeated right now, but there couldn't be a worse position for them to be in. Because with Philly, that kind of good fortune cannot come without some amount of doubt.

The flipside is that an equal amount of BAD fortune can't come without some degree of hope, and the team's confidence that it can succeed in spite of its troubles.

I'd rather them finish 11-5 and win the division, or 10-6 their way into the wild card.

I'd wish similar things for Pittsburgh.

Yeah, but that's the thing: the early half of their schedule is much easier than the latter. That's why they needed to get through it with 6 or 7 wins. They have a crazy stretch to finish the season, and no matter how they're playing, it's gonna be hard as fuck.

Don't doubt the Birds. If their games are any tell-tale sign of how the rest of the season could go, they could pick up a lot of steam in the second half o fthe season. Every game for the past few weeks was shitty first halfs followed by wallops or at least close calls in the second half.

I don't know about what their record should be, but I know this much: I'm not getting my hopes up at all, but they definitely ahve the talent and drive to at least eek their way into the wild card if they work for it.

And P.S.- I want in on the writing of this blog, but obviously not the picks since its mad late.

I feel the same way, Paul. It seems that the birds, most of the time, are showing that they've joined the New England school of 3rd quarter comebacks.
