The thing is...
Even though my two favorite teams that I have loved since I was in grade school are pretty much doomed for the season, I still love this season. For my dime, it doesn't matter that the teams I love are pretty much roadkill, football is so entertaining to watch that I will keep going to PJ's for some games, buying beers and relaxing on the couch for Sunday/Monday night football and all the sorts. Minus an apple pie with american cheese on top of it, Football is America (fuck yea!) Entertaining, violent and centered around beer and food. Although the Choek State is out, there is plenty of exciting games to be watched, enjoyed and talked about.

Oh, yeah. I'm not gonna stop watching. Football is that great. In fact, that 99 season which was the last time both missed out was in fact one of the best ever. The Rams came out of nowhere, the music city miracle, detroit's ridiculous season after losing barry sanders.... football will survive without us.
In a twisted way, I'm almost looking forward to going out and cheering for the Steelers' first meaningless game in a long time. Should that happen.
