sorry, kids... let's get ready

I guess no one cares about college football on here. I thought that madness would be good for a laugh. Since Danno is the only person who voted, I suppose Ivy Joe Hunter's alma mater wins.... which is Kentucky. I didn't even have them on here, but whatever.

I can now count Penn State as the team that is no longer the most embarassed in the Big Ten, and their Toledo disgrace of several years ago can't even begin to match up with Appalachain State over Michigan. I'll never stop laughing. This is the best news ever.

Anyway, They Need to Go for a Safety's first official fantasy draft went down last night, and it was a rousing success. This will be a fascinating inagural season. My decision to go with two starting QB's in a smaller league may come back to bite me in the ass. I'm also curious to see how the people in different drafing spots will do... I think us on the ends are screwed. Maybe we should randomize each round, or each other round. We'll see.

As for my initial analysis, I'm going to have to work hard to stay in this. Eli Manning and Jay Cutler to start, Joey Harrington and some youngster to fill in? Christ. Stev has three underrated runners and Marc Bulger; Dom has Steven Jackson and a host of solid name guys; Paul has Reggie Bush and a maybe rejuvenated Shaun Alexander; Ryan has LJ and lots of potential; Danno has a very solid core; Kev has LDT and two good QBs; and Drew has the roster I pretty much wanted, with a bunch of guys I was just about to take. It's going to be fun, but tough. It will require all of my cunning to keep up with these guys.

Also, I would like to remind you all that They Need to Go for a Safety's second annual Pick-Em challenge begins this week. You may submit your picks on here or via phone before kickoff every Sunday, unless there is an early game (like THIS WEEK). If we can get more people in a year round pool, it'll be that much more exciting. No spreads, just winners.

Get ready...
