Fantasy Recap: Regular Season Stars

I'm quickly going through who were the actual leaders for fantasy points for our regular season.

(player, team, owner)

QB (over 180 pts)

1. Aaron Rodgers, GB (DREW)
2 (tie). Tom Brady, NE (PAUL)
2 (tie). Drew Brees, NO (CHWASTYK)
4 (tie). Philip Rivers, SD (ED)
4 (tie). Michael Vick, PHL (STEV)
4 (tie). Peyton Manning, IND (LEO)
7. Kyle Orton, DEN (DREW)
8. Matt Ryan, ATL (DANNO)
9. Matt Cassel, KC (GREG)
10. Joe Flacco, BAL (RYAN)
11. Eli Manning, NYG (CHRIS)

Notes: There were only 2 points seperating that group from Brady to Vick.... I don't think Drew ever used Kyle Orton more than once... bonus points if you can name all the QB's Muller started...

RB (over 130 points)

1. Arian Foster, HOU (STEV)
2. Adrian Peterson, MIN (STEV)
3. Peyton Hillis, CLE (LEO)
4. LeSean McCoy, PHL (CHRIS)
5. Maurice Jones-Drew, JAX (PAUL)
6. Jamaal Charles, KC (LEO)
7 (tie). Chris Johnson, TEN (DANNO)
7 (tie). Michael Turner, ATL (RYAN)
9. Rashard Mendenhall, PIT (DREW)
10. Darren McFadden, OAK (CHWASTYK)
11. Ahmad Bradshaw, NYG (KAVAN)
12. Matt Forte, CHI (GREG)
13. Frank Gore, SF (CHRIS)
14. Steven Jackson, STL (ED)
15. BenJarvus Green-Ellis, NE (CHRIS)
16. LaDainian Tomlinson, MYJ (RYAN)
17. Ray Rice, BAL (KAVAN)

Notes: Stev not only had the top 2, but also the only 2 to go over 200 points.... Foster was 50 points better than 3rd place (McCoy) and 100 points better than 12th (Forte)... I know I can't complain because I had 2 in the top ten as well, but I should've had McFadden too and just made a mistake... BenJarvus Green-Ellis may be the worst name of all time.... irony: Muller deliberated keeping DeAngelo Williams but instead took Shonn Greene first and then was elated to get Williams anyway with his second pick; neither finished in the top 35....

WR (over 110 points)

1. Dwayne Bowe, KC (GREG)
2. Brandon Lloyd, DEN (LEO)
3. Calvin Johnson, DET (ED)
4. Greg Jennings, GB (CHRIS)
5. Roddy White, ATL (DANNO)
6. Terrell Owens, CIN (CHWASTYK)
7. Reggie Wayne, IND (KAVAN)
8. Mike Wallace, PIT (DANNO)
9. Steve Johnson, BUF (STEV)
10. Hakeem Nicks, NYG (CHRIS)
11. Andre Johnson, HOU (GREG)
12. Jeremy Maclin, PHL (STEV)
13. Miles Austin, DAL (LEO)
14. DeSean Jackson, PHL (MULLER)
15. Marques Colston, NO (RYAN)
16. Anquan Boldin, BAL (DREW)
17. Mike Williams, TB (ED)
18. Larry Fitzgerald, ARZ (DANNO)

Notes: Bowe was shut out in the only game Greg needed him for.... Steve Johnson is listed on Yahoo as "Stevie" and that's adorable... though they may be equally annoying, TO was actually much better than Ocho this year.... a few people predicted that Maclin would have better stats than DeSean, and they were right...

TE (over 70 points)

1. Antonio Gates, SD (STEV)
2. Vernon Davis, SF (MULLER)
3. Marcedes Lewis, JAX (CHRIS)
4. Jason Witten, DAL (KAVAN)
5. Todd Heap, BAL (KAVAN)
5 (tie). Dustin Keller, NYJ (CHWASTYK)
7 (tie). Tony Gonzalez, ATL (CHWASTYK)
7 (tie). Aaron Hernandez, NE (PAUL)
9 (tie). Chris Cooley, WSH (DREW)
9 (tie). Brandon Pettigrew, DET (RYAN)
9 (tie). Ben Watson, CLE (LEO)

Notes: The hardest position to fill.... 1st place was 40 points better than 2nd and double 12th... it seems there were some trades that could have been made.... Jermichael Finley and Dallas Clark would have been top 5 easily if they didn't get hurt.... where has Brent Celek gone?

KICKER! (over 100 points)

1. David Akers, PHL (STEV)
2. Dan Carpenter, MIA (CHRIS)
3. Matt Bryant, ATL (CHWASTYK)
4. Sebastian Janikowski, OAK (LEO) (i only had him half the year though)
5. Josh Brown, STL (GREG)
6. Nick Folk, NYJ (DREW)
7. Rob Bironas, TEN (MULLER)

If your kicker sucks, don't be afraid to cut him. Plenty of good ones were available, even until the end.

D- FENS

(over 105 points)

1. Green Bay (DANNO)
2. Pittsburgh (MULLER)
3. Chicago (LEO)
4. NY Giants (ED)
5. Tennessee (DREW)
6. Cleveland (KAVAN)
7. San Diego (RYAN) (if anyone)
8. Philly (CHRIS)

Again, if your defense is weak, try moving up. The favorites in this category - Jets, 49ers, and Ravens - were not that amazing. Oakland and Seattle made the top ten. Great real life defenses don't always transfer.
